Back From The Past(inu)

Chapter 1

Inuyasha sat in the back of the bus with his friends Sango and Miroku. Sango had just hit Miroku for the fifteenth time because he touched her ass... again. Inuyasha sighed and sat back, looking out the window. Suddenly the bus stopped. He wondered why because no one lived in the shrine for a long time. He looked down the isle as a young girl got on.

Kagome stood nervously, waiting for the bus to pick her up. Her stomach did flip flops as the bus rounded the corner and stopped in front of her. Taking a deep breath she walked up onto the bus and slowly walked to the back where a girl was sitting, arguing with a young man. “Excuse me.” She said quietly to the girl, who looked up at her. “May I sit with you?” The girl smiled at her and nodded. “Sure!” she grabbed her stuff and moved closer to the window.
Kagome sat down and looked at the girl. She wore a school uniform as was enforced by school rules. However, her skirt was longer than a high school student, though she didn’t look like she was in middle school. “I’m Kagome.” she said shyly.
The girl smiled. “I’m Sango. He’s Miroku,” she said pointing to the young man she was fighting with earlier, then her finger moved to a young... Hanyu, Kagome sensed. “He’s Inuyasha, but you better watch out, he’s always in a bad mood.” Sango laughed at the growl Inuyasha gave her and he went to looking out the window once more.
Kagome studied Inuyasha closer. She turned back to Sango and asked, “Are you in Middle school? You don’t look it.” Sango smiled. “No I’m in High School, but certain... circumstances... allows me to wear the longer skirts.” She shot a glare at the young man named Miroku who grinned like a fool.
“Sango, dear, It wasn’t on purpose, I assure you.” Miroku stood in the seat behind sango and took her hands, smiling, even more, like a fool.
Sango slapped his hands away. “Leave me alone!” she screamed at him.
Kagome moved slightly away from sango, she looked like she was going to kill Miroku.
“You might want to move.” Came a deep smooth voice that sent chills down Kagome’s spine. She quickly looked to the source and came upon Inuyasha’s amused face.
Kagome blushed slightly. “May I sit with you then?” Inuyasha moved over to the window, his eyes back to surveying his surroundings, even though he had seen them a million times.
Kagome moved over into his seat and glanced at him. The first thing she noticed was his ears that twitched every so often. They looked so soft and inviting. The next thing she knew, she was rubbing the softness of his ears.
A growl came from Inuyasha throat as the girl rubbed his ears. He suddenly became aware of the noise he made. He grabbed her hand. “Don’t do that wench!” he said as the bus stopped at the school. Kagome’s heart thudded against her chest at the look in his eyes. He pushed pass her and stalked off the bus, leaving Sango and Miroku to help her find her way around.

I NO OWN INUYASHA!!!
Chapter 2

Kagome followed Sango. She had the first two classes with her, the next with Miroku, lunch with all of them, three classes with Inuyasha, and the last two classes she had with all of them. They had 15 mins before the bell rang for first period class so Sango and Miroku showed her to all her classes.
“Watch out for Miroku’s wandering hands. If he touches you, let me know.” Sangos eyes flashed and Kagome giggled slightly.
“Alright Sango, I’ll make sure I do.” She saw Mirokus face pale and her smile broadened.
Inuyasha walked down the hall. His thoughts of the girl from the bus that morning. Her name was Kagome or something like that. He wondered if he had any classes with her. He shook his head. Never had anyone plagued his thoughts like this girl, well one did, Kikyou. They looked so much alike it wasn’t funny. He tried to clear his head of her face. Kikyou... he would never forget his love, while he was in Japan, she was in the States. He sighed, after all these years, he had finally gotten rid of her face. But now that the girl had come, her face was fresh in his mind once again.
Not paying attention to where he was going, he bumped into someone. Mumbling an apology, he didn’t bother to look up but kept walking. Someone came up behind him and placed a hand on his arm. The touch was of a woman and he looked up in surprise. Kagome stood before him, eyes full of worry. His heart beat fast as he saw Kikyou’s face in hers but then it vanished, replaced by her own face.
“Inuyasha, are you alright?” Kagome asked quietly.
He nodded. “Was it you I bumped into? I’m sorry.” he said in a low voice.
This surprised Kagome. “Inuyasha I...” the bell cut her short and Inuyasha shook his head.
“I got to get going, see you round wench.” he disappeared into the crowded rush of students.
Sango came up beside her and grabbed her hand. “Come on Kagome, were going to be late for class!” ~*~*~
“Sango?” “Here!” “Ayame?” “Here.” “Alright then, class, I would like to introduce you to a new student. Higurashi Kagome, please come up to the front of the class and introduce yourself.” The teacher stepped aside and gave Kagome the floor.
Kagome shook slightly as she walked up to the front of the room. She hated being on the spotlight. “Hello, my name is Kagome Higurashi. I moved to Tokyo from the United States, however I was born in Kyoto. We didn’t move until I was 8 for my Mother’s job and returned this year so I could finish my last 2 years of High school here.” Kagome paused and looked at Sango for reassurance, who smiled at her.
“Thank you Kagome, you may sit beside Sango.” Relieved to be next to her new friend, Kagome took her place and the teacher turned to the board and started writing math equations on it. Kagome sighed, it was going to be a long year.

Kagome walked outside during lunch. She wasn’t very hungry so she told Sango and Miroku where she was going and slipped out the door. She looked around at the Sakura trees which had long since then bore their petals, though she could still smell them in the air. Sitting under one, she took out her sketch pad and looked around, wondering what to draw. Her eyes found Inuyasha sitting in one of the trees, his eyes off in what seemed to be space. Kagome smiled, he never moved from his spot so she took the advantage and started to draw.

The next class she introduced herself again. She was surprised to have Inuyasha in her art class. He sat at his desk with his sketch pad, deep in concentration of what he was drawing. Kagome sat at the table next to his but she didn’t look at his picture, it would have been rude so she listened to the teacher. He told them that today, he wanted them to draw what they wanted then let him look at it. He also told them to go to any part of the room to get better angles. Then he let them go.
Kagome walked over and sat on the window sill in the corner so her back was supported. She turned back to the picture she was drawing of Inuyasha. She wanted to finish it and since he was near her, she could. All she needed was to darken the lines and add some more description.
Kagome looked at her model, hoping that he wouldn’t notice. He looked up at her then quickly looked away again, being absorbed back into his drawing. Every once in a while, the teacher would walk around the room. He told them to call him over when they were done. Kagome looked up one last time and put the finishing touches on her drawing and showed her professor.
He looked it over, then looked up at Inuyasha. “Its very good, I can see you have a knack for life portraits. Keep up the good work.” he handed her back her sketch pad and she looked it over once again. She had changed the clothes he wore, much like what she would find if she were back in Feudal times. She smiled at how much they fit his appearance. The bell rang and she quickly packed her bag and headed to the next class.

It was the end of the day and Kagome was exhausted, unfortunately her last class was gym. As she changed for gym with Sango, she took out her sketch pad and showed it to her.
“Oh wow Kagome! It’s beautiful! It looks so much like him. Are you going to show him?” Sango asked, looking over the detail of Kagome’s drawing.
Kagome blushed. “No way, I could never.. No there’s no way...” Sango urged her to. “You should, it’s really good!” Kagome took the picture back and put it in her book bag, “I don’t think I am. I would be too embarrassed.” Kagome and Sango walked into the gym and sat on the bleachers with Inuyasha and miroku. While waiting for the teacher to come in, they talked.
“Hey Inuyasha, Miroku.” Sango said, a slight change in her voice when she said Miroku’s name warned him to be careful.
“Hello my lovely Sango.” Miroku said grinning.
Sango rolled her eyes and sat down behind them, pulling Kagome next to her. “Hey Kagome, why don’t you show inu..” She was cut off by Kagomes hand covering her mouth.
“Shush Sango!” Kagome said blushing wildly. Luckily the teacher came in at that time and Kagome gasped at seeing her.

TEXT“Class, I am Kaede. We are going to start this year with weapons training. The weapons reside against the wall. We also have a new student here... lets see, where did I put that pape.. Ah here it is!” Kaede found her sheet and her eyes widened at the name. “Kagome Higurashi.” A smile graced her lips as she looked at the girl, who returned the smile. “Why don’t you come down and demonstrate your skills. Choose your weapon.” Kagome smiled as she walked down the bleachers and checked the tightness of each of the bows.
“Look at her, she thinks she can beat me. I’m the best at archery.”Ayame said to her friends as kagome picked one out of the group.
Kaede handed her three arrows “See if you can beat Ayame.” she whispered. Kagome nodded and turned towards the targets. She put one in and raised her bow, aiming. She let it go and it landed in the center. Part of the class clapped as she raised her bow again, aiming at the second target that was farther away.
“She’s not going to make it.” Ayame whispered.
Kagome let it go and it landed in the center. More of the class clapped this time. Kagome smiled at Kaede as she moved and raised the last arrow to the last target, that was all the way across the gym.
“I can’t even make this shot perfectly. There’s no way she can.” Ayame said, wringing her hands, afraid that Kagome might actually make it.
Kagome pulled the string back as far as she could and let it fly.
*Thunk*
It landed in the center and the whole class clapped, with whoops from Sango and wolf whistles from Miroku followed by a thud from Sangos fist on Miroku’s head.
Kagome bowed and placed the bow back, running back up to her friends.
“Alright class, get your weapons and go to work.” Kaede said, clapping her hands and the class went to work.
“Kagome that was awesome.” Sango said. “You beat Ayame!” Miroku smiled as he grabbed a staff. “That was very good Kagome, now my dear Sango, do you wish to practice with me?” Sango smiled which scared Kagome. “Of course Miroku dear.” Sango picked up Hirikotsu (sp?) And charged at Miroku, who blocked with his staff. “Never call me dear.” Sango growled as she swung at him again.
Kagome laughed as she looked around for Inuyasha. She found him picking out a sword. “Hey.” she said walking over to him.
He looked up. “Hey you did good out there.” Kagome smiled. “I’ve had lots of training.” Inuyasha looked at her. “Training? By who?” “My grandfather thought that since I was a Miko, that I needed to learn archery and such.” Kagome shrugged. “What I really want to learn is how to handle a sword.” She picked one up and looked at Inuyasha.
“You’re a Miko?” he asked, frowning. “Then how come your not purifying me? Demons and Miko’s are natural enemies.” Kagome smiled at him. “Not all demons are bad. As not all humans are bad, and since your in the middle... well, I don’t think your bad.” She smiled at him.
Inuyasha hadn’t expected that answer. “Come here, If you wanna learn how to use a sword properly, I’ll teach you.” Inuyasha moved out into the middle of the floor with Kagome following him.

“d**n, you sure you’ve never touch a sword before?” Inuyasha said, rubbing his arm as they walked out of the gym.
“I promise I never did.” Kagome laughed, walking towards the girls changing room.
“Alright then. Hey, if you want you can come over sometime and I can teach you with a real sword.” Inuyasha said, smirking.
“I would love to, maybe after we get settled in to the shrine.” Kagome said standing next to the girls locker room.
“Alright you two, go get changed before the bell rings.” Kaede said, ushering Kagome into the locker room.
Kagome smiled as she changed. ‘I’ve missed him so much’ She though. Sango noticed this and looked at her. “What are you so happy about?” Kagome put on her shirt. “Oh, nothing.” Sango opened the door as they waited for the announcements to come on. “Your lying.” Kagome shook her head. “No I’m not!” “What’s going on?” The girls looked back and saw Inuyasha and Miroku standing behind them.
Sango smiled. “Kagome, you tell me what’s up or I’ll tell Inuyasha about you-know-what.” Kagome was baffled by Sango’s declaration. “That’s blackmail!” She said.
Sango smiled. “Tell me Kagome.” Kagome shook her head. “Nope, I ain’t spilling nothing.” Sango grinned even more. “Hey Inuyasha, you know what Kagome drew in art class?” Kagome tried to pounce on Sango to shut her up but missed. “Sango no!” “She drew you!” Kagome stopped and dropped her face in her hands, cheeks truing a crimson color.
Inuyasha looked at her surprised as the announcements came on. “You did?” he asked in a low voice so Kaede wouldn’t yell at him.
Kagome nodded sheepishly, she couldn’t look at him.
Inuyasha looked at Kagome and smiled. “Don’t worry bout it Kags, but I do want to see it.” Kagome nodded. “On the bus I guess.” the announcements ended and they both ran upstairs to get their stuff.

Kagome got on the bus and walked to the back where Sango was already sitting. Kagome glared at her and sat down in the seat she and Inuyasha had been in that morning.
“Kagome, don’t be mad with me. At least he doesn’t care.” Kagome ignored her and leaned her head against the cool glass, closing her eyes. She felt a soft thud next to her and looked over. Inuyasha smiled at her and extended his hand.
“May I see it?” Kagome swore under her breath.” I was hoping you had forgotten.” she told him as she took it out of her book bag and handed it to him.
He looked it over carefully, examining the detail on it then he looked at her and smiled. “Better than mine, I’ll have to admit.” he said smiling, handing it back to her.
“Its nothing, I just wasn’t sure what to draw.” She lied. “Can I see what you drew?” Inuyasha blushed slightly. “Um.. It’s not done yet...” he said looking away.
Kagome smiled. “Can I please still see it?” Inuyasha shook his head. “After I’m done maybe.” he said as the bus started to slow. “Hey your stop is next, you might wanna get up there.” Kagome nodded and slipped out past him. She looked back at him and smiled before continuing to the front of the bus. When it stopped, she got off and walked up the stairs that led to her new home.

Chapter 3

Kagome walked into the house, “Mom, I’m home!” Mrs. Higurashi walked down the steps and hugged her daughter. “How was your first day dear?” Kagome smiled. “It was great, I made some new friends.” ‘And met an old one.’ she though. She placed her book bag next to the door and took off her shoes.
“That’s nice dear. I bought Ramen if you want that for dinner.” Kagome grinned. “I’ll make it.” she volunteered.
Mrs. Higurashi smiled back. “Alright, but that won’t be till later, I put the boxes of your clothes in your room. You can arrange your furniture anyway you want.” Kagome nodded. “Alright then.” Mrs. Higurashi smiled and went into the kitchen and started unpacking the boxes of kitchen supplies.
Kagome ran up to her room and looked around. Everything was the same as it had been in her last one. She walked over to the window and opened it, leaning on the window sill. She had a nice view of the gods tree, her grandfather told her the story that revolved around the tree, of the hanyu and of the miko that fell in love. Kagome sighed and her thoughts turned to inuyasha. She was surprised he didn’t remember her. Then again, he was too busy staring at kikyou all the time. Kagome sighed and plopped down on her bed. “Stupid dog, can’t remember anything.” she mumbled as she fell asleep.

“Quit picking on him!” “What are you gunna do about it little girl?” Kagome pushed down the bug youki that was picking on a little kid. “Go away.” She ordered as the youki scampered away.
Kagome turned to the little boy who was sitting before her. She knelt down and looked at him. “Are you alright?” The little boy looked up and kagome gasped. He had the most gorgeous eyes she had ever seen, a bright golden color. At the moment, they were filled with tears. Kagome reached for him and he whimpered and tired to move away. She brushed away a few of the tears that were on his cheeks.
He looked up at her startled. She smiled and her eyes found two white ears plastered on his head. She looked at him puzzled. “I thought you were a human.” He shook his head. “I’m a Hanyu.” he said in a low shaky voice. “That’s why the bug youki was picking on me.” he said sadly. “No one wants to be my friend.” Kagome looked thoughtful for a moment then smiled. “I’ll be your friend.” She said standing up and holding out her hand.
The boy looked warily at her then accepted her hand. She pulled him up and smiled. “By the way, my names Kagome.” He looked at her.” I’m Inuyasha.” he said in a low voice.
Kagome grabbed his hand. “Come on, you can come and meet my cousin.” she said, pulling him along to the other side of the play ground.
“Kikyou! Kikyou!” Kagome called to her cousin.
A girl only a year or two older than kagome turned around. “Kagome, it is un-lady like to shout.” Kagome stopped and lowered her head. “Sorry Kikyou.” then she looked up. “ this is Inuyasha, my new friend.” She smiled happily.
Kikyou looked at him and frowned in disgust. “He is a hanyu, you’re a miko, you should not be hanging around with filthy blood as that.” Inuyasha bowed his head in shame but kagome stood up straight. “Don’t be so cold hearted Kikyou. There are worse humans than him out there. What about the story of the gods tree grandpa told us when we visited him.” Kikyou rolled her eyes. “Its only a story kagome. Miko’s and youki’s can’t get along, its impossible.” she walked away.
Kagome glared daggers at her cousin’s back then looked at Inuyasha who was sitting on the ground, his eyes were filled with sadness.
“See.” He said quietly. “No one wants to be my friend.” Kagome sat down in front of him and looked around. On the ground she saw small flowers and started picking them. “Nonsense. I want to be your friend.” Inuyasha smiled slightly and started playing with the grass, running it through his fingers. “Yeah, only you do. No one else. Not kikyou” Kagome smiled. “I’m sure someone else will be your friend. I have two other friends you can meet, beside kikyou’s a stick in the mud.” Kagome smiled and plopped a flower crown on his head. Kagome giggled, the way his ears stuck up was so cute. She reached up and rubbed his ears. She started giggling some more after he started making a purring sound. He pulled away quickly and blushed, looking down. Kagome only laughed more and took him by the hand and they ran off to play some where else.

“Kagome!” Kagome opened her eyes slowly, not wanting to wake up.
“Kagome! A friend of yours is here!” Kagome moaned and dragged her ass out of her bed and down the stairs. She walked into the kitchen where her mother was standing with...
“Inuyasha? What are you doing here?” Kagome asked sleepily.
He smiled slightly. “You left this on the bus.” he held out her sketch pad.
“Thanks Inuyasha.” she said, taking the sketch pad and placing it in her book bag. “Hey, inu, you wanna stay for dinner?” He looked at her, startled. “What did you call me?” She grabbed a big pot out of a box and put it on the stove. “Inu... I thought you liked that....” she looked at him.
Inuyasha was taken back. “How would you know? Ohhhh Ramen! I’ll stay!” he exclaimed as kagome took out water and 10 packages of Ramen.
Kagome smiled as she turned on the stove and waited for the water to boil. ”you sure your parents wont mind?”
Inuyasha shook his head. “No, my mom won’t mind.” Kagome smiled. “What about your dad?” Inuyasha looked down. “My dad died when I was 8.” Kagome gasped. “He did? Oh I’m sorry inu.” He shook his head. “Don’t worry about it. It was a while ago.” he said quietly.
Kagome poured the Ramen into the pot and checked on the chicken that her mother had put in earlier. “Dinner should be done in 5 mins.” Inuyasha looked at Kagome. “Do you know a girl named Kikyou by any chance?” Kagome’s mother had just walked in with some flowers in which she dropped upon hearing Kikyou’s name. Inuyasha looked at her confused. “What did I say?” he asked.
Kagome quietly poured the hot water out of the pot through the strainer. “Kikyou was my cousin. Don’t you remember?” Inuyasha blinked. “Remember what?” Kagome turned and looked at him. “When we were little? You really don’t remember do you? Actually, I was just having a dream about you before you came, of the day we met.” Inuyasha stared at her. “Mmm, not really.” Kagome sighed. “The bug youki, Kik.. “ She gulped. “Kikyou. You were fascinated with her. The flower crown..” Kagome’s voice faded off as she remembered all the flowers Inuyasha had brought to Kikyou.
Inuyasha thought hard then remember. “Kags... I’m sorry I forgot, you left when you were 8 and we were only 4 when we met. It was a young age. So.. What happened to Kikyou. I remember that she left not even a year after you did.” Kagome looked down. “Kikyou... Kikyou disappeared a year ago. The police thinks she was kidnaped and killed.” Inuyasha’s heart clenched. “Wha... What? How could that have happened? She was so strong...” he trailed off looking down at the floor.
Souta walked in and tugged on his mother’s apron. “Mom, can we eat now?” Mrs. Higurashi nodded and took the chicken out of the oven. The rest of the meal was eaten in silence. Inuyasha helped Kagome clean the dishes and pick up.
“Hey Inu, do you want to come up and watch a movie? We can talk if you want.” Kagome asked when they were finished.
Inuyasha looked at the clock. “I would but my mom is probably worrying about me by now, why don’t you come over after school tomorrow?” Kagome nodded. “I’m sure my mom wont mind. Anything you want me to bring?” “Just yourself and your sketch pad. Knowing you, I’m sure you’ll have fun drawing.” He smiled as they walked towards the door where he put his shoes on.
“Alright then. See you tomorrow at school.” Kagome said smiling back.
Inuyasha hugged her. “It was great seeing you again Kags. Byes.” he said with a wave as he ran down the stairs of the shrine.
Kagome walked down to the Gods tree and leaned against it. “How I missed him.” she said quietly. She slid down the tree, her head bowed slightly with her eyes partly closed. She brought her knees up and leaned against them, and fell asleep.

Chapter 4

“Where have you been Inuyasha?” Inuyasha was trying to creep into his room when he got home but his mother caught him.
“Um.. At a friends house. She forgot her sketch pad on the bus so I brought it back to her and she asked if I wanted to stay for dinner.” he answered truthfully.
His mother eyed him. “Sango’s?” He shook his head. “No, an old friends house. She just moved back.” His mother smiled. “Ah, so Kagome does go to your school. I saw her mom shopping today. They’re coming over for dinner tomorrow. I always thought that you and Kagome would make a nice couple.” Inuyasha blushed. “Mom! It ain’t like that!” His mother blinked, puzzled. “I always thought you did. Oh that’s right, it was her cousin.” Mrs. Tama shook her head. “I’m afraid I never really liked her. She was so cold.” Inuyasha shook his head. “Doesn’t matter, she was kidnaped a year ago according to kagome and they don’t know anything about it.”
“My, that’s terrible. Look, get some sleep. You have school in the morning.” Inuyasha nodded and he went into his room, shutting the door behind him. Plopping down on his bed he closed his eyes. ‘Kagome... the only reason I ever gave Kikyou those flowers was because I was too afraid to give them to you. Forgive me, I fell in love with kikyou after that but deep in my heart I still had feelings for you... I still do.’ he rolled over. ‘How could I have forgotten you?’ with these last thoughts troubling him, inuyasha fell into an uneasy sleep.

“I’ll miss you Kagome. ” Inuyasha said while he hugged the only friend he had. “Do you really have to go?” Kagome nodded, tears flowing down her cheeks. “My mom has to go for her job.” Inuyasha hugged her tighter. “Kikyou’s staying right?” Kagome stopped crying and looked at him. “Yes.” she said quietly. “Why?” Inuyasha blushed slightly. “Erm... um no reason.” he turned away from her.
Kagome felt a pain shoot through her heart. “Oh, I see.” she turned away ad headed for the car. She got in and glanced out the window.
Inuyasha stood looking at her, but his eyes were distant and not really looking at her. Kagome turned away and waited for her mother to finish saying goodbye to her sister. Once her mother climbed into the car and they started driving down the road did she look back at inuyasha and she wished she wouldn’t have. He stood looking lost in the middle of the road before he ran down in the opposite direction.

Light shined through the window and fell upon a sleeping Inuyasha. An alarm went off and his ears twitched as he sat up, stretching. Hitting the clock, he went to his closet and took out his uniform for school. ‘Another day in hell’ he thought as he got dressed. (An: o.0 take it all off!!) ‘At least I have after school to look forward to.’ he grabbed his book bag and went downstairs.
His mom tossed him a bottle of Pepsi as he left. “Have a nice day dear!” Inuyasha walked down the sidewalk to school sipping at his soda when he heard his name being called.
“Inuyasha! Wait up!” He looked back and saw Sango and Miroku running towards him. “Hey guys, what are you doing here?” Sango stopped, panting. “We.. missed...the...bus...” Inuyasha laughed, “Third time now isn’t it?” he stopped at the corner of the street where the bus was going to pick them up.
“Yeah yeah, we’ll never hear the end of this one now.” Miroku said, sitting on the ground.
Sango looked down the road waiting for the bus to come. A figure was running towards them. Sango perked up when she recognized the figure.
“Hey Kagome!” Inuyasha and miroku looked up, “Hey Kagome, what are you doing here?” Miroku asked.
Kagome stopped, breathing hevily. “I wanted to talk to Inuyasha.” Inuyasha looked confused. “What about?” Kagome looked at him. “My mom told me this morning that were going over for dinner, do you still want me to come over after school?” “Yeah sure, that way we have time to fight.” Kagome smiled. “Alright. By the way, why are you and miroku here? I thought your stop was on the other side of town.” “Hee hee, would you believe that we missed the bus?” sango asked smiling.
Kagome paused for a minuet. “No, you probably did it so you wouldn’t have to stay on the bus with miroku alone.” Inuyasha looked at Sango, surprised. “Is that the reason?” Sango nodded. “I only do it when he’s acting more perverted than usual... which I put up with most of the time.” Inuyasha shook his head. “I feel bad for you. Oh here comes the bus.” The rest of the day was uneventful except for Mirokus occasional feels of Sango, which was easily becoming part of Kagome’s life. The only thing that happened was during last period, gym.
Inuyasha slashed at Kagome who blocked his attack.
“I still say you’ve used a sword before.” Inuyasha said as he blocked Kagomes attack.
“Nope, never.” she replied dodging his attack then trying to sweep his legs out from under him.
Inuyasha jumped up to avoid kagomes leg. ‘Well if that’s the way you wanna play..’ he thought as he dived back at Kagome, she blocked but narrowly and she was off balance. Inuyasha’s leg shot out and kagome started to fall.
‘sh!t’ she thought as she saw inuyasha’s leg come out of no where, ‘If I’m going down, your going down with me’ she thought as she grabbed Inuyasha by the shirt and they fell together in a crumpled heap.
Kaede came over to where they were piled up. “Alright you two, class is over so hurry up and go get changed.” She turned and exited the gymnasium.
Inuyasha slowly sat up, he was on top of kagome who was laughing.
“You should have seen your face!” “Well I wasn’t expecting you to grab onto me!” he said standing up and grabbing her hands to pull her up.
Kagome gladly accepted his hands and he pulled her up. “Thanks Inu...” she stopped when she saw the look in his eyes. “I... Inuyasha?” Inuyasha shook his head to clear his thoughts. He just had a huge urge to kiss her, he let her hands go. “Come one, we better hurry up.” “Yeah..” kagome said breathlessly as she followed him out the door.

Inuyasha hopped off the bus with Kagome following behind him. “It’s a bit of a walk. Hope you don’t mind.” Kagome shook her head. That was the only thing he had really said to her since they left the gym. Kagome blushed as she remembered the look in his eyes, gods did she want him. ‘Wait, what am I thinking!?’ she shook her head. ‘I’m losing my mind’ After about five minutes, inuyasha stopped in front of an iron gate and opened it. “Were here.” Kagome stopped, her jaw dropped as she looked at his “House”.
“you never told me that you lived in a mansion!”

Chapter 5

Inuyasha shrugged. “I dunno, you never asked.” He opened the door and took off his shoes, dropping his book bag next to the door. “Just put your junk down there, my mom won’t mind. I’ll be right back, I’m going to go change.” Kagome nodded as he took off upstairs. Taking off her shoes she set her book bag out of the way and went into the living room. She looked around at the pictures that hung on the wall. Abstract and portrait art covered every inch of the walls.
“Wow.” Kagome breathed. “It’s beautiful.” “Thanks.” Kagome spun around, Inuyasha stood in the doorway, wearing only long baggy pants.
“You did all of these?” Kagome asked amazed.
He nodded and sat on the couch. “Yeah, my mom likes to keep all of my stuff that I do. I only like a few pieces myself.” he stretched. “Im actually working on one but... my model doesn’t sit still, nor does she even know she’s my model.” “Ooh really? Who is it?” Kagome asked, sitting down on the opposite end of the couch.
Inuyasha leaned over and whispered in her ear. “It’s a secret.” Chills went down Kagomes spine. He was so close to her and she had never really gotten over her feelings for him.
Inuyasha laughed as he saw Kagome stiffen. “Come on, let’s go start practicing.” He headed out the door with Kagome following close behind. He went around the house to the back where Kagome gasped at the sight of his training dojo.
“Wow, this is amazing. No wonder your so good.” She looked around, at the very far end of the room was a figure practicing.
“Hey Sesshoumaru, back from your trip already?” If the guy heard him, he didn’t respond, he just kept attacking the dummy in front of him.
“Pfh, stuck up jerk,” he muttered. “ over here Kags.” Inuyasha walked to the side of the wall where the katanas where. Inuyasha took two off the wall and handed one to kagome. “Now these aren’t sharp enough to pierce the skin but they will leave a nasty bruise. You sure you want to practice now?” Kagome nodded, she wasn’t about to let Inuyasha try to scare her into chickening out.
“Fine, but I won’t go easy on you.” Inuyasha lunged at her and Kagome barely dogged it. She took a swipe at him but missed, he was a lot faster than he was at school. After about 5 mins, inuyasha had kagome pinned to the floor with his foot. “Ready to give up yet?” Kagome growled. “You wish.” she muttered as she rolled out from under his foot and took a swipe at him. He jumped up but when he landed, Kagome tackled him and they both fell to the ground with Kagome on top of him, she pinned his hands over his head. “Ready to give yet?” she asked, mocking him.
Inuyasha smiled and rolled over, so that he landed on top of her. “Funny, it looks like I’m going to win this one.” He bent low to her face. “Though I’d let you win... for a small fee of course.” Kagome tried to struggle out of his grasp but she couldn’t. “Oh really, and what would this fee be?” Inuyasha lowered his head even closer to Kagomes. “Hmm, how about a Ki....” “Inuyasha! Leave the poor girl alone.” They both looked up to see Inuyasha’s mother standing in the door way holding a tray of drinks.
“Man mom, you had to come in now didn’t you?” Inuyasha whined as he let go of Kagome and helped her up.
Kagome was blushing as Inuyasha helped her up. ‘Was he going to say a Kiss?! No Kagome girl, don’t even think that ‘ Kagome smiled at his mother. “Thanks, I was beginning to think he would ever let me go.” His mother smiled. “It’s great to see you again Kagome, I was starting to think your mom would break her promise.” She said as she handed them some water. “You guys look like you’ve been really busy.” Kagome nodded and accepted the drink thankfully. “Yeah, at school, he’s a push over but not here. By the way, you said you thought my mom was going to break a promise? What was that about?” “Oh, she promised that she would come back. I was worried about Inuyasha losing one of his first friends.” She said sighing. “It’s a good thing he made friends with Sango and Miroku.” “Mom! Why would you worry about me? I’ve always been fine on my own.” Kagome shook her head. “Stubborn as always.” His mom laughed. “Of course, would you expect anything else?” Kagome studied Inuyasha for a moment. “Nope guess not.” “Hey! What’s that supposed to mean?!” he asked, looking back and forth from his mother and Kagome.
They laughed, “nothing Inuyasha, nothing at all.” ~*~
“Do I have to wear a dress?” Kagome whined.
“Yes, My step-dad is eating with us tonight and he likes everything to be formal. Which means I have to were a suit” he grumbled.
A maid came down the stairs. “Come this way ma’am, we have extra dresses for guest’s.” She lead Kagome upstairs and off into a beautiful guest room.
There were many maids in the room. One approached her, examining Kagome. “Bring the Midnight blue one.” she said to one of the others that rushed off into a different room and coming back with a Midnight blue dress.
“Wow” Kagome breathed as she finger the dress. “This is beautiful.” “Please try it on miss.”The maids bowed and left into the other room. Kagome quickly got undressed and put on the dress. She tried to zip the back but failed. A maid came out of the room and helped her.
Kagome spun around, her dress spreading out as she did. “Wow, I love this” “please ma’am sit down so we can do your hair.” one of the maids said.
Kagome sat down and one of the maids put her hair up in an elegant knot on her head with her bangs hanging down and curled. Kagome’s gold locket necklace added a nice touch to everything else.
“You should be ready ma’am” One of the maids said as she slipped on some low heel sandals.
“Thank you so much.” Kagome said bowing. She left the room and walked down the stair case where Inuyasha was waiting in a suit. He looked up as Kagome walked down the stairs, his mouth open.
“Wow Kagome, you look... amazing.” he said holding out his arm.
Kagome gladly accepted and they walked towards the dining room.
“Kagome, where did you get that necklace?” he asked, glancing at her. “Is that?...” Kagome nodded. “I never take it off, I haven’t since you gave it to me for my birthday.” She opened the locket and Inuyasha was on one side of it, and Kagome was on the other. “Were only 8 in these pictures, do you think I could update them sometime?” she asked as she closed it.
Inuyasha nodded and they walked through the doorway. Inuyasha brought Kagome over to her seat and pulled it out for her. She sat down and he took a seat next to her. Kagome’s mother and brother sat across the table from her, talking to Inuyashas mom and a little girl that sat next to Sesshoumaru. She looked up at kagome before looking away quickly.
Inuyasha leaned over to Kagome. “That’s Rin, Sesshoumaru adopted her.” “Wow, I never though Sesshoumaru would never do that.” Kagome whispered back.
“I know, it was sudden too.” The table went silent as a maid walked in, followed by a charming man. Everyone stood up and Kagome quickly followed their example. The man waved his hand and they all sat back down.
“Welcome Higurashi family. It’s a pleasure to meet you all. I am Takashi Hedeoma.” his eyes traveled first to Kagomes mother, then her brother, and finally settled on her. “Kagome?” She nodded. “Ah, you were the one I was most anxious to meet.” “Why sir?” she asked perplexed.
“Why, my step-son is talking about you constantly ever since yesterday. It’s always Kagome this, Kagome that, when we were little, Kagome and I... and on and on. I’m happy he’s found such a nice girlfriend.” Kagome’s mouth dropped. “GIRLFRIEND?” ____________
Actually, I have writen up to chapter 9. i'm just spacing it out
